"Matnas Michoel" means "the gift of Michoel." Michoel ע"ה was a gift to our family for 13 years. He was taken from us suddenly on ה' אדר א' תשנ"ה, only 2 months after his Bar Mitzvah. Michoel ע"ה was the embodiment of simcha. His musical talents were equaled only by his talent for bringing joy to others. This sensitivity to those around him, and the genuine Hakoras HaTov he would display, revealed a maturity beyond his years. Yes, Michoel ע"ה was a true "Bar Mitzva." With this in mind, we felt there would be no more fitting way to perpetuate Michoel's name than by establishing a צדקה to benefit a Bar Mitzva בחור in need. And so, Matnas Michoel was founded.

The funds raised in Michoel's z'chus will provide needy boys with Tefillin and other necessities vital to their new roles as adult members of Klal Yisroel. For many families in our community, purchasing Tefillin is a financial strain which often distracts from the total happiness which should mark this momentous occasion in a boy's life. In addition to the Tefillin, we also ensure that each boy receives a full suit and clothing for his Bar Mitzvah, all tailored to fit his needs. This is done in a discreet and Bakovidik manner, preserving his dignity and privacy throughout the entire process. It is our deepest hope that you will join us in this beautiful mitzva and thereby give a meaningful עליה to our son's נשמה. Through this special z'chus of assisting a בחור in his 13th year, may HaShem ́s 13 Midos Harachamim prevail and may He send the Geulah Shleimah B'Karov B'Yomainu.
